Beebe River Falls
The Beebe River drops sharply 25 feet and then flows through a scenic gorge. Located in Campton, NH at Exit 28 off I-93, follow Route 49 east for about 1 mile. Take a right at the lights at the Campton Dam and follow south on Route 175 for approximately 3 miles. You will come to a sharp turn in the S curve. There is a parking area on the left just past the Chalet Gift Shop with the bear out front. Caution should be used when viewing the falls.
Spectacular falls especially during spring runoff, these cascades are accessible by a 1.7 mile hike via Drakes’s Brook and Fletcher’s Cascade Trails in Waterville Valley, NH. Park at the lot on Route 49, 11 miles east of I-93, Exit 28.
Discovered in 1808, The Flume is a natural granite gorge extending 800 feet at the base of Mount Liberty. Towering granite walls rise to a spectacular height of 90 feet. Located in Lincoln, NH along Route 3 in Franconia Notch.
Melting glaciers eroded about an acre of granite ledge as they receded northward forming Franconia Brook, and creating one of the most unusual finest falls in the White Mountain Region. This area is famous for its so called “Chute” that provides an exhilerating water ride for the adventurous swimmer. Sunbathing is also popular on this large expanse of smooth rock. Access to these falls is by an easy 3 mile hike along the Lincoln Woods Trails. Park at the Lincoln Woods Trails lot on the Kancamangus Highway 5 miles east of Lincoln, NH, Exit 32 off I-93.
At Exit 26, take Route 3 north (look for pull-off just past Wilson Tire). The Pemigewasset River drops through a steep-sided gorge, cascading into a pool at the site of an old mill.
Avalanche Brook tumbles over flat rocks forming rapids that are reached by an easy 2 mile walk along the Livermore Road. Start at the Livermore Road parking lot adjacent to Tripoli Road 1.8 miles north of Route 49 in Waterville valley, NH.
Located 3.5 miles west of where Bear Notch Road joins the Kancamagus off I-93 at Exit 32, Sabbaday Falls has a 45′ drop. You can’t swim here, but the 25 ft. falls’ beauty is well worth the easy .3 mile hike. The handicapped accessible trail takes you to the top where the ‘Best viewing’ area is located. Picnic area and bathrooms located near parking area.
Smarts Brook Cascades
Series of large pools and wide, smooth granite with gently flowing stream and tumbling cascades alongside Smarts Brook Trail. 1.1 miles from Route 49. Parking lot is located 5.5 miles east of I-93, Exit 28.
Series of beautiful waterfalls on the Cascade Brook Trail in Waterville Valley. Start at Snow’s Mountain Parking lot (back left of parking lot). Accessible by a 1.5 mile hike via Cascade Path. 12 Miles east of I-93, Exit 28.
